Seems to be a bit of mixed messages coming out of club. Article in t&a seemed a lot more downbeat about all three than stuff on club website. Be interesting to see which, if any, make squad this aft.

AFAIK Ferguson's latest injury was not the same as his back problem so inless someone knows something, i think it's a bit unfair to accuse the Bulls' physios of 'bringing him back too early' and effectively causing him another serious injury. That's a pretty serious accusation to make. I don't buy it. Usually after operations the consultant in charge tells you what you can do and when.

Whatever, Ferguson will be miles off the pace whenever he comes back. I hope he gets a runout soon, but I don't think we'd see him anything like up to speed for at least a month or two of games. Which I reckon isn't actually a bad thing.

For the reasons you make FA, I can see us only going with Luaki on Sunday. I can't see Jimmy risking two forwards who haven't had a run out between them. He's going to need subs who can do reasonable minutes if neccesary

I would also give Ferguson time as he is a terrific player when fit. Him, Davis and Lauaki on the bench with a utility player is a pretty good bench to bring on. I hope we see Shaw given a run for a couple of games as you never know if Mullaney works well at half back and Shaw works out at full back we may solve our goal kicking problem that we will need when we meet the SL clubs in a close fought game.
