Would the players sign though? I could imagine the owners making desperate attempts to sign players up. But if you were a player, and you have no intention to play in L1, why would you sign a 2 year deal when we were dead certs to go down? Tonga made it very clear hes here next year, despite it being obvious to everyone we were down.

If we've signed Tonga on the proviso we can only afford him by staying in chanpionship, then im with Hamster its, the most bonkers signing since Riche Mathers. IF we have signed him with the intention of keeping him in L1, i think its a good signing.

I think they would provided the money was offered, end of the day these players have signed on for the next season so all you can do is hope they stay and not read too much into it. If they had that in there contract why bother signing a 2 year deal yet you'd wait and see first in all fairness and then at the end of the season sign an extension surely.

We still keep coming back to whether or not contracts are voided on relegation. If they are and I'd guess that is the case, or at least the contracts will probably have 'release clauses' in them. Let's not forget all these contracts will have been negotiated by agents and agents like nothing better than their guy signing another contract, bigger payday for yours truly, natch..

After Tonga's first game, he had the gall to criticise a fan who'd made a joke about how long it'd take him to get injured. It was actually a joke about our fortunes with new signings rather than aimed at Tonga himself, but Tonga took offence to it and picked the person up on social media. This was after his first game. He hasn't played since. Perhaps he needs to keep it shut next time.

I was talking to a friend about this when Tonga was announced. We have had horrible luck with injuries and new signings so we sign a player who has spent a lot of time injured lately.... recipe for disaster.

This worries me for next year as IF Smith and Tonga are signed up for next year (and contracts are valid with relegation) they are better players but not when they are sat on the sidelines injured.

Perhaps we should post an advert in RL Express " Have an injury requiring surgery or rehabilitation? Sign for Bradford Bulls. You know it makes sense"
