I'd be very reluctant to go in with just 2 experienced props (Lynch and Scruton) and am not yet convinced Kopczak should stay. He's got the advantage of he's playing regularly this season so we can see if he develops. Even keeping Kopczak, Crossley and the Burgess twins are rookies and my point of view is we need 4 props with more than a season of SL games so I'd still add 1 to those starting 3.
Fielden has the experience and ability.

Sculthorpe ????
Hall ???
koppy is 4th choice prop for this season..hall 3rd
we dont really need him back ...especially with what he would be wanting ££££ wise...would be demanding 6 figs easy
rather make the squad bigger and have 2 average players...preferably backs

I'm not convinced about Sculthorpe and think we'd have grounds to cancel his contract if he doesn't play this year so didn't count him.
Hall is a 2nd rower who's covering prop because we're missing Sculthorpe and one of the criticisms I'd level at them this year is too much shifting of players out of position to cover injuries. Hall has probably suffered most in his personal form from this.

I'm also not sure Fielden would be able to demand that sort of figure given his form over the last few years and although there would be interest I don't think he'd be a top earner.

He has?

Is he on a dual contract that I didn't know of then? Coz I've seen more average stuff from him, which is the story of his Bradford career.

not sure what the rule is regarding that. He's back in training now. not sure when we lose ability to cancel his contract, when he's unavailable to play for six months or unavailable to train for six months. If the latter and we havent voided his contract and allowed him resume training then we've missed the opportunity. I think we're still ok and its 6 months unable to play but not 100% sure.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_league/super_league/bradford/7988990.stm says unable to train or play for 26 weeks in any 12 months. That's not clear to me if that means 26 consecutive weeks or any 26 weeks.
I think if he doesn't get able to play this year we'd have to look at releasing him even if it's by agreement rather than any contract clause.

Fielden is still a good prop and better than Kopzcak, Hall or Sculthorpe. At the right price i'd take him back in a flash.

its definitely 26 consecutive weeks. if it says train then we may have missed the boat and have to negotiate a release by mutual consent as he's back training. Seem to remember part of trouble when we released tupou using this clause was that we maintained he was unfit to resume training whilst he was training on his own before the 26 weeks were up. If we have missed opportunity to release scully on the 6 month clause then we may as well wait and see how he goes when fit as it would probably cost bulk of remainder of his contract if we went down mutual consent route.

I wouldn't suggest releasing him this year if he gets back playing, it's another body where we are light and I'll happily judge him on what he does in RAB.

The alternative view is it it making them very hungry players who grab every opportunity that comes their way when given game time.
