Are you in charge on here ? Would you please deactivate my account ? I can't find anywhere that'll let me do it myself. Thanx.

I'm no more in charge than your average user, I just have a green name! I'll have a look if you can de-activate it yourself should you wish to.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Ambitions for this season? : Sun Feb 01, 2015 7:54 am
Well that was interesting.

Most of that debate seemed to be around 50% of the game. ie where a man drives in the ball. I'm assuming as most of the play takes place in the centre of the field this also makes Roby a prop too.

However the other 50% of the games is defence. So does this make the halfbacks centres? Where did Sia line up in defence? 2nd Row / Centre or prop??

From what I could gather neither side were accepting of the others opinions hence why we get statements like 'fact'.

Well it's not fact it's an opinion. Whilst I agree 'laughable' could be regarded as insulting, so can things like your 'average fan'.

But generally on here the insults remain within what I would call pub banter. The challenge always comes when you get 2 strong opinions clashing. It was interesting to watch.

In the end it can be argued either way, sure he played some elements of prop, but he also played second row too, maybe that makes him a proprow. But the entire lack of reference to the defensive structure suggest that people were picking elements that best suited their own point of view. Quite frankly if we had 7 players at prop in defence then we would have had people stood behind each other or holding hands in the line up.

As for the original point, my ambitions are for some good RL, some fantastic skill shown from our halves. Top 4 finish and a semi (final) in the CC.

In terms of players, the last one I 'critiqued' was Meli, and I wasn't alone in that!

Seems like we ain't allowed to put our opionons forward on here these days. I don't recall you ever making any personel posts regarding players other than voicing your opinion.

I seem to remember most on here saying sack lance and send him home he's not good enough. I seem to remember most on here giving Perry some awful comments on here. The are many others.

Why is it if me, saintsfan or Sado make our opionon known it's deemed as basically calling a player, yet it's deemed fine to absolutely hammer certain players deemed fine?

I got hammered on here for revealing transfer need, injury news and team lineups before they came out but then I get 10 pm + every week asking me team news etc.

So is it a new board rule not to comment on a players form? If so, it has to go for everyone!

Deary me, what is going on here?

I don't see an awful lot wrong with what SLS said. Sia did play alot down the middle channel last season especially when LMS moved out to the back row. What's the issue?

As for our ambitions this season, I had to laugh at Saddened's top 8 prediction :) Our worst teams in the SL era finished 5th, so it's a ridiculous post but to be expected.

Our ambitions are simple - to win everything. A team that has just won the title shouldn't aim any lower than that unless the squad has been completely dismantled which it hasn't.

Whether we're good enough to win everything is another question. I would say along with Warrington we have the strongest squad on paper followed by Wigan, Catalans and then Leeds and Huddersfield. Salford will be improved this year too. It should be an exciting season with the games meaning more, so we should get a truer reflection than last season where teams relaxed at certain points in the season and targetted games. I'm looking forward to it.

!

I think it was just the repetiveness, the above perhaps "going overboard" with messrs Mose, Brown and Wello. Personally I support every player who wears the saints shirt despite playing good or bad, sometimes opinions on players get "flogged to death" at times, I'm sure not one single saints player goes out there to play with little effort.
Its a team game and maybe sometimes we look too deep on individual players when in reality there is a bigger picture.

Whilst you may not mean it in an insulting fashion, it can be taken as such.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/laughable

You may mean laughable as in arousing or provoking laughter

But the interpretation read can mean incongruous;inviting ridicule.

Ridicule generally is taken to be insulting, rather than complimentary.

But like I said further down the page, most insults on here go no further than people in a pub arguing over team selection. (hence not really worthy of getting in a huff over)

But some people are a bit precious and take every word and syllable as a judgement on themselves. As for Saddo pouring scorn on players, generally I find him fairly even handed when it comes to players, I may find the rest of his comments extreme in the sense of unrealistic, but the reason I have him on ignore is because he just became obsessed at turning every thread into a Wello bashing thread and in the end I just turned it off.
