Agreed on both players and they will be playing in the same team next year which will be very exciting.

Lots of other very good players in the younger age group within the Academy and plenty of the older age scholars also set to join them next year. So far its 6 from 6 for the Academy and I personally think next years Academy squad has the potential to be stronger again.

All 3 teams (1st, Academy and scholarship) had good wins against strong opposition last weekend. The future looks good!

Smart work by Saints to get Lewis Dodd signed up, he was on a list of youngsters that an NRL club was keeping an eye on.

Yes exciting player for us Lewis Dodd and good to keep him in league to away from the circling union vultures.

Thought the older Academy lads in the pack went really well getting back to winning ways against Huddersfield on Friday evening. They lead from the front with power and pace and good handling. Callum, Chris and Alex where great  and well supported by the rest in the forwards. Good to see Simm back on the left edge to after missing the Bradford game, he makes such a difference with his strong carries and his eye for a try. :thumb:

4 Academy lads in the England squad to play France and Australia

3 of the 4 are from the younger u17s age group too which is a great achievement.

Well done to:

Tom Nisbet
Josh Simm
Jack Welsby
Jake Wingfield

Some excellent players with a lot of talent in the group of lads signed to next seasons Academy contracts from the u16s scholarship squad. Great additions to the Saints family COYS!!
