There’s just no rational debate on here it seems, no one has said BM is perfect, that’s a strawman, just because a couple of us don’t blame BM for absolutely everything and are looking at all the reasons for our poor form it doesn’t mean BM can do no wrong.
Spot on. The same posters have been calling for his head for years. It's comical at times.
That is not true. The critical problem has been the lack of big props for most of the season (not counting the need for quality 6 of course) For most of the season we have been without Garbutt, Peteru and a replacement for Galloway (who retired after the first few games) plus Cuthbertson has missed a lot and the Singleton has been on the sidelines.
Are you seeking to blame the older players for recent losses even when they are out injured? If you are referring to JJB and Ablett as your ageing second rowers then I beg to differ as they have played for much of the season when the big men were out and had to cover the middle defence carries and tackles and both have run their legs to water for the club and performed better than their younger replacements. Ward is every bit as injury prone as his older colleagues as is been Ferres and Sutcliffe.
Garbutt showed you the difference a big man makes which for almost the first time this year put us consistently on the front foot. Oledski especially has come on very very well indeed and is a totally different player to the one that started the season. Credit to the coach please.
Smith too has progressed well but still misses a lot of tackles and youngsters like Newman have to be allowed errors as they learn to play with the grown ups however these errors have been a factor in narrow losses which cannot be blamed on older experience players who have played such a key role in our success.
I am sure if we had had our first choices available all season like St Helens we would have been challenging them at the top of the table.
Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.
Mr Printer you can’t have it both ways - either it’s the players being at near full strength that is the difference or the coach. 2016 was everybody else but the coach despite BM admitting he made some big errors but 2017 was all about him not a fuller fitter squad - which is it
Which is it - this is why your argument lacks clarity and gravity
The injuries excuse is pathetic. Should it affect performances? Sure. Should we have only won 1 game out of the last 9 league games with the teams put out? Absolutely not, unless anyone thinks form that over a whole season would see us bottom is acceptable. Betts was sacked by Widnes with a record of 3 wins from 12 games. Our record in the last 12 games is 3 wins and one draw, with two of the wins and the draw being the first three of those games. Should we not expect much, much better from Leeds if lowly Widnes think its unacceptable?
Its the same arguments as 2016. Never mind the 17 we put out, its attitude and the way we play that stinks the place out far too often.
Credit BM with all the GF wins by all means, but stop trying to excuse his inability to manage the team when things aren't going well. The evidence suggests he's great at managing a team thats going well but really not very good at all when things aren't working.
And by the way, if you want competition wins as some kind of shield from criticism, then this year looks like a disaster from that perspective as well.
Personally I'd have said in 2016 and this year a comfortable Middle 8s (5th to 7th) and no CC was perfectly acceptable, so long as the team looked like it was trying, was playing some entertaining rugby and some kids got experience along the way. Due to injuries we've played kids a bit, but on the other KPIs its a massive fail from me.
Not quite the e-mail from GH yet but he's in todays YEP talking about injuries & trying to gloss it as "more interesting for SL". He also highlights the next 5 games as a crucil "mini-season".

He is so far out of touch, he even says we looked a top four team six weeks back. We have not looked top four all year
Yes, what's the worst that can happen. Relegation by failing to get into the Million pound game. New stands half full, and the same old tinted glasses of everything rosie, keep re-signing the aging forwards and its the injuries that have put us here. McD to sign an extension to his current contract and we visit some old grounds like Odsal. The comments against a league restructure come to haunt GH too !
