Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.
So how does this work, it impacts this week but not last week, impacts the week of the SF but not the three weeks we beat Saints, Hull and Salford. Very random this apparent off field stuff.....oh maybe it's just sport and you have good days and bad ones. Maybe Wakey and Chester had untold off field issues that last two weeks, or maybe they just hit a bad patch.
The coach picks and prepares the side and during the game decides on the interchanges and the make up of the side on field during the game. Just maybe he has good games and bad games just like the players.
It could just be that when he picks the wrong side, gets the tactics wrong and doesn't use the interchanges correctly that impacts what the outputs of the team are. In the past Leeds had players good enough to cover for his errors now they don't and its shows.

Yes I agree he'll make wrong calls and have good games and bad just like all coaches, I was one for dropping Ablett this week but he didn't. But we were talking about off field stuff.

Surely preparing/picking the team and agreeing the tactics for the game are all off field stuff?
not sure what the coach could have done last night. it was major bad performances and terrible school boy error's that gifted them 3 try's, JJb Ablet, mcguire were just awful. some very pathetic penalties and some woeful one on one misses. yes he should have subbed them, but the damage was done, he obviously wanted to give them chance to turn the second half around.

Perhaps if he hadn't selected Ablett and JJB then the penalty count would have been reduced significantly the try when Wood simply left JJB grasping thin air may have been avoided etc. You cannot expect 35 year old guys to keep going long minutes week after week. Who is picking the side
I would if thought Wakefield were anything above average - the sad thing is average was all that was needed to put nearly 40 points on Leeds.
What it does show is the inconsistency of teams and how seldom you get two playing at the top of their form in a game in SL these days
Agree there has been a lack of consistency in all teams but I don't think we were average last night. I thought we put in a fantastic shift and have played some excellent rugby this season, credit where it's due and all that. Anyway the in-laws are Rhino's as are many of my friends so i'm going to have a glorious day . All the best for the rest of the season
McDermott is going. I actually think he is more relaxed because of it, and seems to have let the shackles go. He apparently asked to finish the season, and that is what they agreed.
