He’s nowhere near as good a defender.

I’d rather we signed Liam Marshall, younger and quicker I think. Certainly Wigan have too many wingers.

I’d be happy with most of those lads that Wigan have brought through on the wing. They seem to have loads of them and they’re all fast, strong and committed. It’s almost like they brought their youth team through for certain positions but our youth team just signs the “best” players at amateur clubs and then tried to find them a position (usually too slow for centre, too small for second row and not skilful enough for stand off).

Nothing I've seen this year tells me Walker is better than Golding in defence.
But hey that's what makes message boards and opinions what they are.

I wouldn’t take Hayne as I don’t think he’d really be interested and we don’t need anyone who isn’t 300% committed.

I’d guess Oates would want to play back row, but he’s not played there before so it would be a hell of a risk.

The only person that wants to move Oates into the forwards is Oates. Whilst he's an outstanding winger there's absolutely no guarantee he'll have the same impact in the forwards. Everyone knows that, which is why he's struggling to get anyone interested in him as a forward only.

Hayne could be outstanding, but he'd costa fortune and he's got an ego the size of a planet, and being a big fish in SL's shallow puddle would probably not interest him. He'd be playing RU now and having a dream of winning the RUWC with the Wallabies, if he hadn't decided to have a rushed attempt at playing for Fiji in the Olympics when his fitness was all wrong for 7s having come straight from NFL.
