Not sure about this one. Top bloke, great playing CV and no doubt will bring some added value. My question is however, what knowledge on skill development and skill acquisition does he bring? These youth players wouldn't survive in SL now as they don't possess the necessary skill set (and of course strength) so how is this developed? These are young kids, so skill acquisition and development expertise would be top of my list if I were recruiting this job. How can we as Leeds Rhinos turn our 8 out of 10 rated U16,17, and 18's into 9 out of 10 rated player and ones we as fans can genuinely get excited about. .
It's about performing skills under pressure, it's about being creative and allowing players to express themselves whilst taking ownership. Passion and pride get you so far as a coach but learning new skills as players is the bread and butter for me.
Morley will no doubt bring passion, no doubt some good experience however can he develop players skill set! That's what we lack at junior and academy level.
