Troubled times ahead : Sun Aug 21, 2016 11:41 am
As long as we win our next 2 games we should avoid the million pound game. But that is far from the conclusion of our problems. Going into next season, we don't have a proper spine in place or this is lot's of uncertaintly surrounding it.

We don't know whether hardaker will be back at fullback. If he is, that means sutcliffe who has started to settle at fullback is back in the halves and we await any potential problems with hardaker.

If he isn't, sutcliffe is fullback which leaves us short in the halves, even if mcguire carries on. Even if mcguire carries on, how much will he play? It seems either way a new halfback is needed, on top of what we already have. But who? where from?

At hooker, segeyaro has practically saved us. But you feel as soon as an nrl team comes in, he's gone. That would be a hammer blow. Again who would replace him? where?

Then there's mcdermott. Does the ''surge in form'' ( ) save him?

With pre season on the horizon theres uncertainty around our halves, fullback, hooker and potentially coach. With this in mind, it's going to take us a few season to get things sorted and get another platform in place to challenge.

Warrington Wolves at this point last year had uncertainty surrounding their halves hooker fullback and coach, Im sure it will take them a couple more seasons to recover?

Warrington had Clark and Dwyer so were sorted at hooker and were already bedding Sandow in and had Gidley signed up for this year so they had plans in place. Their resurgence is of no great surprise and no coincidence it is them two leading it. Where is our planning? nothing to date and the possibility of losing our hooker and left in limbo at any time.

Yeah but Warrington's hooker was coming to Leeds until Westerman signed for them and agreed to be his chauffeur so they were in that limbo too this time last year ;)

why do you think we ended up with a last minute bargain basement hooker? because Hetherington thought Clarke was a done deal and never had back up options.
I know leeds enquired after westerman but not sure how far it got

Brian McDermott paraphrased Peter Fox.
"He'd say if we had 13 Bernard Dwyers we wouldn't lose many RL games. It's the same for us with JJB"

i was told that the rhinos would not match the wolves' transfer offer offer of £150,000 for a player that only had 1 year remaining on his hull fc contract.

good business for hull fc considering the situation imo

Or because we thought we had Houghton or O'Brien or McIlorum or Lunt or Farah or insert name of all the other hookers that we were linked too.

well lets hope we don't get left high and dry again with Segeyaro being nabbed in a couple of months and nothing left but scraps again. Its a bizzare deal and such a key position we need to know whats happening asap or next year could be screwed on the back of it.
