of wins. Given the terrible run we'd been on, have we just be told to get back to basics for the time being... until we get some confidence back? Or is this just a coincidence? Thinking about it, I guess some of the back to basics could've been down to the bad weather the last couple of games.

I think you are right. After the second half debacle at wire, I suspect they have been concentrating on defence and basic football with a decent ending kick. Old Ferres still managed to give away his traditional penalty although thought he ran well and should benefit from a rest with no game last week. A Ferres penalty appears as mandatory as a Brian May solo in a Queen song.

Ferres charged with Grade B dangerous contact, no EGP available so will be sitting out the Widnes game and probably the Hull FC game too? Might be a blessing in disguise.

The improvement almost always (if not always) starts from the defence and that had been a self-inflicted wound. Starting the game with six forwards and having effectively two halves defending on the fringes rather than three was always going to be the logical starting point once the coach or whoever finally grasped the nettle - albeit much too late to save Leeds' faltering season.
