I don't think Thaler was as bad as Powell or Gronk on VT is making out. Got some calls that could've gone either way which happens, he did however drop a clanger for the kick/offside on the HT hooter.
Obvious going into the game that the view of Thaler from the Cas players/coach is frosty and for a team that you don't usually associate with being wound up they were tonight. Very similar to us and James Child or Silverwood post the 2010 WCC and essentially a mental thing that you're going into a match expecting rough calls from the ref.
With regards to Sam Tomkins, got to say Solomona gave as good as he got in terms of niggle. Looked like their was bad blood between them, expect it between a couple of forwards but strange to see a winger & FB be so wound up with each other.
Tomkins always likes to wind up other backs that he thinks he is better than (and that are skinnier than him), I remember once when Makinson knocked on and he ran right over and started winding him up, I can safely say I have never wanted a Saints team to win as much as that, luckily ol' turstile tompkins missed a tackle at the death and wigan lost
noticed he wasnt doing as much winding up in the NRL, but that might be because I can only think of 2/3 occasions where he actually outplayed his opposite number
But remember guys we cant boo him when they play us at Headingly or he might go complain to the papers again
