It was arguably Hull KR's excellent Challenge Cup run which kept Chester in that job in 2015. Their top eight target was missed and this time around they acted early and decisively - Chester himself had predicted his own demise when he said he was surprised to be only second favourite for the chop at Hull KR's pre season media event.

Your 1 from 5 includes the two games Willie Poching was in charge of before Webster's appointment - Webster's Hull KR won 2 from his first 5 including their biggest win V Leeds at Headingley both in terms of points scored and margin of victory not only in my lifetime but also in your lifetime, indeed it was Hull KR's highest score and biggest margin at Headingley ....... EVER.

Including today's defeat Webster is now 4 wins from 10 Regular Rounds as Hull KR coach while Leeds are 2 wins from the same. If you think Hull KR's record since changing coaches is not that great (and compared to Wakefield's I agree it's not) it's still 100% better than that achieved by Leeds who are sticking with theirs. If you class 4 from 10 as poor what does that make 2 from 10?

What point are you trying to make here? Leeds being cack this year and gifting KR a win that was nicely wrapped with a bow on top doesn't change the fact that KR have been poor even after changing coaches. Whilst at Wakefield, Chris Chester has got a poor/average side on paper playing extremely well. They must be questioning whether they made the right decision or not over there in East Yorkshire.

McDermott deserves great credit for all he achieved over the previous 5 seasons. His time is at an end though, its just a matter of when in the coming weeks/months GH decides to remove him.

Chester seems to have been a breath of fresh air for Wakey who have got that beautiful thing going called 'momentum' and are riding the crest of a wave, good luck to them. It won't last imo, and i think even the most ardent Wakey fan would agree on paper they aren't top 8 material but it looks like they will make it which is a great achievement and they should enjoy it while they can.

If Wakey and Chester are still punching above their weight the rest of the season and into next then we can have a comparison but for now he is still in the new coach effect and honeymoon period. In truth the coach who should be compared with McDermott for turning rags to riches over a good period of time is Daryl Powell, Cas don't just win they play some great rugby at times too.

I don't think you will pal - we very much feel we are, please try not to patronise us your hardly in a position to do so.

Chester is feeling the benefits if 'new coach syndrome' where every motivational speech he gives is new to the players ears
After a few more months the effect of these will wear off and so will his teams performances, as chester doesnt seem to be the best tacticakky minded coach
For reference (and as we have just been to Newcastle) look at any team Alan Pardew has ever managed, and how they fall away after the first 12 months

But then what happens next year? And the year after that, and after that and after that.

You have fallen in to the trap a lot of leeds fans have fallen into and forgotten that you build a house to last for decades, not for months.

That would be why Wakefield have nailed down on 2+ year contract virtually every player under 25. We are building and have been for a while just didn't expect to be this far along so soon. We have not fallen into any trap as far as I can see.

The only player we have who is currently a vital cog ho is coming to the end of his career is Finn who will need replacing - the rest are either reaching their relative peak or heading that way.

This nonsense about who has the better players amuses me. Surely the best players around are those who are playing well - you can tell me all day that Watkins is better than Arundel, but Arundel is playing his heart out whilst Watkins has lost his and may never get it back - you're as good as your last game no matter how much alleged potential you have.

Of course but the question was comparing a guy who has been at a club for over 5 years and won every trophy going and another who has been at a club for 9 games, there can be no comparison imo.

How did Chester get on first part of the year at Hull KR?

Not very good tbh, but to be fair to him at the time they had more injuries than Leeds.

He was brutal. He let Dixon endure 80 minutes.

You could have put Wayne Bennett in charge of Hull KR, they still wouldn't have won.
