Have a quiet word with your Kris will yer - nothing wrong with getting kranky over the way the season is going. I imagine they'll be plenty on the Headingley payroll doing likewise.

Bottom line is if you sign a player from the NRL they should be better than locally available. Particularly in a key position like hooker.

Falloon wasn't anywhere near being a star in the NRL - he got dumped by close to the worst side in the competition along with a bunch of other players who were seemingly more interested in partying than playing RL. The attitude issue was why I wouldn't have gone near him in the first place.

If Leeds let him go at the end of the year I wouldn't expect a queue of NRL sides lining up for his signature.

When I started going regularly to matches Dewhirst was the coach and Leeds were 4 points clear at the top of the league with 2/3 of the season gone. They then lost nearly all their league games to the end of the season and Hull were champions. I always blamed myself for the years of misery that followed.

I completely agree. Trouble is/was there weren't any available! The best option we had was to keep Aiton, but we didn't. I'm no more a fan of Falloon than anyone else (was playing devils advocate if anything) but I don't think he deserves the level of criticism he's getting when - for various reasons - he has been introduced to a team in complete turmoil. I hope he gets a fair chance when we get out of this slump.

That's my view. I'm not sure about this half a year to settle in idea either. Why are overseas signings given such leeway when the likes of Lilley aren't given 2 matches before being dumped on?

This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC

Interesting to see the 19s starting with Sam Hallas at hooker over the weekend. Probably not going to be big enough to be a top level prop, but has decent hands and mobility.

Wonder if the club might be taking a look at re-training him for a different position?

Hallas looked pretty chunky to me, has he got decent pace?
Is there a danger he could turn out to be another McShane - similar build.
What is his supposed position?
Recently the club seems to have gone for hookers who IMV have been too small/lightweight, Hood & Ward for example.
Maybe they hoped they'd grow a bit more than they have.

Wasn't being too small one of McClennan's issues with the Academy forwards when he came here, leading to a bunch being released?
