To be fair to Sutcliffe, he's just coming back from a knee reconstruction, and was playing on one leg for most of the game, so it's unfair to judge him too much based on that game. Lilley does look like a natural though.

Yes patience is needed after such a serious injury......however some people on here have zero patience.

Need to somehow get Ashton Golding into the 17 as well, he is too good to be not playing.

TBF Sutty looked like a picked up a stinger around the same time as Magsy, but obviously we couldn't take him off because we'd have been left with no hooker.

Lilley did look ready for SL and if Magsy's out he should play.

Most important right now is getting Falloon fit to play against Widnes. Do that and we have Burrow to come off the bench and support the halfbacks.

If Sutty is still not 100% (and he didn't look it last night) then Lilley should be playing alongside Magsy.

No he hasn't. When has he ever proved it? He is a world class player who can come up with a game breaking skill. He is not a player who can dictate the game play and move his team around. Never has been. Hence why Lilley is the better partner, who can move the team around, kick, and allow his partner to come up with the skill play.

On their day they're all clearly exceptional players. So here's a novel suggestion: why not play the pairing that's fittest and/or showing the best form? Granted, our halves may not play well week in, week out but we don't have a problem there in the true sense of the word.

Yep.

Sutcliffe & McGuire as our halves, both proved what they can do last season. Sutcliffe showed his potential and McGuire showed he's not past it.

Lilley looks a very able backup with great potential but there's no need to rush him, he'll get plenty of game time this season. The future is bright with Sutcliffe, Lilley & Golding.

Yes and it never happened last year. He doesn't have it in his locker. You can't just rewrite history by saying something.
