Barry Eaton has left Hunslet Hawks due to their relegation and is now full time assistant coach at Leeds.

The unused substitute will still have some mileage I reckon. I can see Baldwinson or Cam Smith sitting unused this year and McDermott getting battered for it.

According to the YEP Eaton's been doing the job at Hunslet unpaid, meaning that the Rhinos must have been paying all of his salary - a matter that nobody on here seems to have known or at least posted. I wonder if that would have altered the way in which Hawks fans viewed the Rhinos had they known that? Somehow I doubt it, since it doesn't suit their anti-Rhinos stance.
I have long called for a full-time assistant to McDermott, so I'm pleased to read this news.
Obviously, he's really been doing this for sometime now.

Have the substitutions been reduced this year as proposed? If they have then any coach not using subs deserves a good heckle, as it would be sheer stupidity.

They have in the NRL, not in SL yet

suppose after last year brian's earned a free year

We've been spoiled for years with having the ultimate kicker on our team.

No matter who takes over, they need time to settle into the role and responsibility, the keyword is patience. Very few players will reach kevs level of dependability.
