Not quite what he said.

What he said was he was aware of the rumours we were linked with Sam and whilst it would be great if he knew Sam he thought Sam would want to stay in Union to prove the doubters wrong.

I think Sir Kev might well be right, I think Sam will want to give himself a bit longer in RU and let's face it he could pretty much move to any RL and many RU club in either hemisphere any time he fancies a move. If he comes into SL I would want it to be with Leeds, but if that isn't his plan then I would be more than happy for us to spend what ever we have in the war chest and cap on strengthening elsewhere. Hooker, 2nd row and a succession plan for the halves would be top of my wish list.

I wasn't quoting him word for word mind. But I think he was pouring water on the concept.

What I found interesting is he thought the ill-feeling between the 2 Codes of Rugby was a 2 way street and that he was disappointed at the way "Rugby Union" has treated Sam. Especially the Ex-Players who he thought should know better. He like most people thinks Sam played well and deserves a place on Saturday. I know he didn't say much about it, but I wonder if he's at all worried about the reception he'll receive from the Rugby Union World. Granted nowhere near as High Profile as Sam's Move.

I wonder whether Barrie has returned to Wigan yet Slightly uncalled for, maybe the beer talking.
