The Yawnion kick off is 8pm, so at least that should mean the journey home isn't as crowded as it could have been.

If City and United were to play on the same day then approximately 50% of them would already be in Manchester and not travelling into the city.

As Tad says City & United don't play at home on the same day. Though I'd imagine that's more to do with the risk of violence than anything else.
