In hindsight, i have to say thanks to our Phil for his words during and after the Cas defeat last week.Of course the Leeds players had enough reasons to lift their game yesterday but his comments can't have gone unnoticed by the group and must have acted as an extra piece of motivation through the week.

I wonder what was going through the minds of the Wigan coach, team and supporters knowing the helicopter was on its way only then to find out it was turning around right at the death :D

First time I can't recall Stevo calling for the "little chip over the top" and we actually did one AND it worked.

In the scenario we imagined on the train ride home last night, the helicopter was about a metre off the ground over the JJB centre spot, with the hub cap shining as the floodlights bounced off it and all the pies dancing about, when the word got through to the pilot and he took the chopper back into the sky, leaving the Wigan fans confused and Shaun Wane looking for a small dog to kick to bits.

Stevo's a f*****g joke. Is there a commentator in any other professional sport who'd advocate a professional foul in the way he did (repeatedly) after Hall had scored? I mean, come on; a more dramatic sporting moment is difficult to imagine and there he is saying it was a mistake for it not to be ruined by the commission of a professional foul. Scott Grix by plenty. As for Stevo, the bald c*** should be sacked, simple as. What the hell does he imagine comments like that do for the game?

At the end of the day, Mcdermott has won plenty of pots in his 5 years in charge. He has done exceptionally well over that period but i do feel to get iconic stautus amongst the fans he needs to do well without Sinfield and Peacock.we will soon see

Tony Smith has gotten iconic status with many and he had Sinfield and latterly Peacock.

The old "but he's had great players" argument. Well of course, any coach whose won things has needed great players. How many titles would Alex Ferguson have won without Cantona, Giggs, Ronaldo etc???

Glad you brought this up...thought it was just me. I couldn't actually believe my ears that he was calmy and methodically condoning/advocating that the use of the professional foul would have been a better move for Grix to have made...and that he was genuinely bemused as to why he hadn't done so.

Most fans already know the value of Mac. If you are referring to the clique from the keyboard Clap Trappers and Chunters Club who wrote him off in the middle of his first season and have never forgiven him for proving their acumen so wrong then and for every year since. Some of them only come out at night now when we lose a couple of games only to disappear again when we win another Cup
