Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.
I didn't feel sorry for him. He looked very dangerous every time he ran the ball and held it. Holding onto the ball however, is a very basic skill, and if he can not get that right then he shouldn't be playing these games. Nothing to feel sorry for there.
Sadly, he had the sort of game in front of 80,000 people and a massive TV audience that he could have had at Salford in front of two men and a dog without anyone noticing.
Gary Connolly had just as bad a game for Saints again Wigan at Wembley and he turned out ok.
Gone into this in more detail on another thread but rewatching the game Dixon was actually one of KR's better players in the first half but did have a nightmare second.
French Connection UK, yeah! I'd forgotten that one. Wasn't he about 17 at the time and had almost single-handedly beaten widnes in the preceding semi?

Even class players like Briscoe sometimes fall short of this basic skill, like in last year's playoff game.
Yes, once is an error, nerves can play a part, a poor pass from a team mate. But we are not talking about once are we? he did it about 10 times, and has continually done it all year, hence the not feeling sorry.

He's a young kid, he's got potential IMO. He caused us fits in the 1st half of our game at Headingley. He's never a full back though.

Your opinion is harsh, IMO.
And yet you wrote off Thackray for dropping the ball in contact, and probably did it less times in all his games put together than Dixon did on Saturday. Are you saying you are learning from an error?
