Well let's face it if he doesn't get in the side soon and it looks like he's not going to keep his place that is what will happen. He won't want to be twiddling his thumbs at his age

Re: Burrow's last game for Leeds : Wed Mar 04, 2015 11:08 am
Noticeable looking through the "try of the month" contenders that two have come from Aiton running that diagonal line out of dummy half then hitting runners on his outside with a well timed pass.

On his current form, he doesn't deserve to have his game time diminished and the team can't afford the defensive restructuring that having Burrow replace him would involve.

Aiton is in our top 3 players so far this season. Look a lot better structured offenceivly and defensively. He must stay as starter. Burrow should and can still change a game, but it will have to be from the bench.

All well and good but what if Aitons improved form is a consequence of his not being interchanged?

Aiton didn't play the whole 80 last week. Sutcliffe came on for him for a bit in the second half.

Yep, you're right. I should perhaps just have said more game time.

Burrow has to show that he can still break a game from the bench. He's not that good a 'traditional' halfback (and certainly not hooker) that he's worth putting the side out defensively if he isn't creating havoc.

If he does still have his zip then he should be in the team every week.

Leeds are a peacock strutting their feathers.

Mac will be quite pleased he can send Delaney to Hunslet and not select Burrow, when people have questioned his 'weak' squad.

But injuries will occur, maybe thick and fast, during the cause of a season. Burrow and Delaney will have opportunities. I just hope it's form that picks the team rather than sentiment or status come the big games of the season.
