My first impression of our team this year is that it is stronger without Rob playing. It's not a knee jerk 6 points from 6 job, it's just an overall feeling that we move forward and look tighter and more cohesive with Aiton at hooker. Last night was a big test for us, and it's the first to me we passed the particular test in 4 years.
I agree, the balance and workload seems much better. In attack it seemed like everybody was involved in getting us forward.....not just a reliance on Peacock's grunt and Burrow darting about which it has been in the past.
I think with Burrow and using him at hooker......people instantly think of the GF 2011 and what he did that night. But realistically something like that performance is very rare and you forget the issues regarding the balance of the side. Hell I think the reason he made the bench for England in the 2013 WC was based on that one night two years previously.
