If you enjoy Radio Yorkshire's Super League Review, or just hungry for more rugby league on TV, we hope we've got something for you! Last Tackle is a weekly discussion programme on all the issues and topics surrounding our sport of Rugby League. We're pleased to announce that our pilot episode airs tonight, Thursday at 11pm, on Sports Tonight Live, available at http://www.sportstonightlive.com/ and on VisionTV via connected FreeviewHD set-up boxes and TVs on channel 244. A YouTube link will follow the broadcast. On episode one, Mark Wilson (Radio Yorkshire, talkSPORT) is joined by Forty-20 Magazine's Phil Caplan, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats owner Michael Carter, new England Academy coach Andy Kelly, Aaron Bower from the Rugby League Express and Radio Yorkshire regular Richard Shaw-Wright to discuss the chances of the six Yorkshire clubs for the new Super League season. Next week, we'll look at the 5 clubs on the other side of the Pennines and the Catalans Dragons. This is a pilot, so might seem a little rough around the edges, so we are aware of things that need to be put right before episode two is recorded next week. but any feedback is gratefully received and any suggestions on what you'd like us to discuss are welcome!

I thought the content was pretty good - though it is in effect a podcast on screen.

I'm sure you know that you need to sort out the sound levels, which were all over the place, and you really, really, really need to fix the lighting. And no offence to Mark Wilson but you also might think about hiring a stylist. And get Phil Caplan a higher chair.

Sorry if that sounds negative, but the technical things can be smoothed without too much budget. As I said I thought the content was pretty good.

Thanks for your comments. We're aware of the technical issues so hope these will be sorted by episode two next week.

You're not the first to say we need a higher chair for Phil, but I'll make sure some of our budget goes to Mark's stylist!

I'm glad you enjoyed the content, as long as we have that pleasing the viewer, we hope to be on the right track...

Few technical issues obviously, but quite good just needs polishing, which you seem aware of. Didn't hear Mark through a lot of it, as i only have a right earphone atm. Very similar to Backchat minus the shouting between Studd and Stevo. Good to see people from the clubs and not just journalists on, hopefully that will continue. Maybe have a better background than just black.

I'd most likely watch the repeat on Youtube rather than 11pm on TV.


Also don't put Phil next to 6'4 monsters:wink:

Good to see another RL voice available on TV. Enjoyed the show bar the teething issues already highlighted. As has already been said it is nice to see coaches and others involved in the game. Only negative for me is the set which had the look and colouring of a down market funeral parlour. So for my money spend the money on the set before Marks stylist

Great first effort, look forward to episode 2
