Would rather he went to the NRL than Union but equally would rather he stayed in SL.
Too many teams and too few quality players over here though so I could understand a player like Tomkins needing a bigger challenge.
Perhaps Bradford may entice a rich benefactor within the next week and a bit to paper over the SL cracks? Either way, other SL clubs will eventually fall into a financial shitheap of which there's no escape. May well be several administrations followed by liquidations.
The whole SL edifice along with it's unreliable and unrealistic franchising system, it's utterly bizarre 'no cash' sponsorship deal with Stobart is living way beyond it's means, propped up by club benefactors who aren't guaranteed to stick around too long. A small group of clubs are just about able to handle the salary cap but no more than that. Top 8 play off system in a competition which realistically cannot even field 8 competitive clubs, never mind 14.
Super League is on it's knees financially and in terms of playing standards and lack of quality on the pitch - something's gotta give and it may be a lot sooner than anticipated.
Sam would be mad not to bugger off sooner rather than later.
