So it's the councils fault Wakefield signed contracts so bad it was pointed out at the time this very thing would happen? Don't sign a contract that says everything needs to be built before the stadium and expect a stadium to ever be built.

What contracts are these exactly, that Wakefield signed? And who is Wakefield exactly?

I am so pleased that you remain totally and utterly clueless... It is occasionally good to get affirmation that, while change is always inevitable, people often do not!

Might I suggest with all honesty that you channel your efforts for the future to finding a new 'user' name for this forum

i.e NGB4TL New Ground Before Third Lanark

No idea whom you are, but for clarity and because you clearly value honesty, the tale about the council selling Belle Vue back to Wakefield Trinity for a pound (good to see that it is now as low as a penny though!) is more than apocryphal, it is just downright rubbish! However, it is a story that people like to tell, including WMDC officers and Peter Box himself, despite it being total horse manure!

Right, now we have the idiots who are clearly missing a suitable village out of the way...

I am really pleased to hear that this got handed back and that this would not be the subject of a costly and pointless public inquiry. WMDC have clearly learnt much from the fundamental errors that were made by them over Newmarket and the draft 106 document for Five Towns is everything that the Newmarket would should have been. I am pleased that Castleford Tigers and most importantly their fans will get the new ground they (like Wakefield) so desperately need and indeed deserve.

It looks like the start of the 2018 season will be the start of a new era for the club and it's fans!

As i have said before lessons have been learnt but what i cannot understand sometimes is how and why these stadium issues have arisen in the first place.
One thing i will say is that this current wakefield board have in my opinion made a stance regarding BV and good on them.
I hope as a cas fan that it does work in wakefields favour and they get some stability somewhere, concentrate on rugby talk instead of stadium crap.

"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League"

This tale is a bit of an urban myth round these parts IA. A bit like the one about the Benedorm Flats that were never paid for and were too costly for the owner to dismantle so the club got them for nowt. There must be hundreds of stories like this circulating the the WMC's of Cas Vegas.

Whoever signed the damn contracts, that's who I'm referring to when saying Wakefield. Unless you're saying nobody signed any kind of contract at all and that's why you're blaming anyone and everyone but the people truly at fault

P.S. Maybe if the stadium trust/Wakey fans tried being civil, the council/Mr Box might actually want to talk to you..the mud flinging on the Wakefield board is embarrassing and isn't a good look for those of you who are actually putting in some hard work.
