Such a better idea than just straight friendlies, at least the teams have something to play for.

As it is a knockout what happens if you lose first time out?, should it have been a round robin type with shortened games, say 20 minute halves) giving every one a decent run out and speccies a full day of rugby( if you can enjoy such a place).
my humble opinion only of course!

No, because shortened halves would just reduce the games to training sessions.

There is a plate compertition for the losses from the first round and Fev at least are offering tickets for all 12 games at £39 (I assume all clubs are doing the same). Info here: https://www.featherstonerovers.co.uk/ne ... -cup-qlWBs

So I am guessing that is will be 2 double headers per weekend, with
QF: 5th/6th Jan
SF: 12th/13th Jan
Lossers from SF: 19th Jan
Finals day: 20th Jan

So 6 double headers over 3 weekends with 6 of the clubs hosting 1 double header (Dewsbury/Bradford for the QF), I am guessing that Hunslet Parkside plus 1 other to miss out (I am guessing again, maybe Halifax or York due to Football).

And the reason that the other venues have not been anounced yet is that they will be tweeked for the SF & Final weekends so that the hosting venues include their own clubs and can be swapped betweenn Saturday and Sunday.

Odsal isn’t the best place in the world to watch a game so I can’t see a lot of folk buying a ticket to watch all 3 games on the Saturday or/and Sunday in the middle of winter.
