I am not aware of any other sport that give all teams the same amount of prize money regardless of where they finish.If that is the case,field a mass of juniors, save a huge wage bill for a few years,swell the coffers then have a tilt at promotion when you can afford the top players! really the way forward?
As for parachute payment making a level playing field? as a certain comedian would say my a**e

A twist to the P Payment emerging from the HKR v Widnes game that you may picked up on.

Widnes were allready relegated regardless, a win for them at HKR could have pushed Rovers into the million pound game and should they have lost and been relegated it could have cost Widnes.
£250.000!!
No question Widnes weren’t really trying to win though.
