The lads must have nothing left in the tank after the last few games. Some huge efforts. Realistically, my sights are set very low for the next 7 games, we may take a few heavy ones- not that thats whats important now.

Look at the last 3 games and how we have played. I think we can cause a few upsets and be a dark horse team. We've already shown that we can beat any championship team and we certainly owe London one. The lads have peaked at the right time. I'm looking forward to what we can do.

This.

Its going to be a lot harder to score against SL teams but the one thing going for us is we can defend and defend very well. We really owe Fev one at home and can see us breaking that cycle. 1 win would probably be enough to finish above Fev as given their fixtures they will have to target us and KR I would imagine. Get a second win and suddenly you can start dreaming.

Realistically though you can see us competing with the worst 2 teams in SL and Warrington will just be our day in the sun so hopefully we can put on a good show there.

I didn't mean this in a negative way. But the last few performances have been huge- the type of "one off" "cup final" style performances that take a lot out of you. To ask the players for more of the same, when they have already achieved their goal for the season, is a massive ask.

Personally I'm delighted that we have made the top 4, and getting hammered 7 weeks in a row is not going to take the shine off that one bit.

I agree with you GFB

As I see it (just my own view)

Warrington - no chance of winning
Catalans - can't see us winning this one
Leigh - hate to admit it but we will probably be 2nd best here too
Widnes - winnable if we give it our all
HKR - we've got better form than them at the moment so this is winnable
London - we really owe them a defeat, we can beat them
Fev - winnable

I'm not looking through rose tinted specs here, I am looking at how we played over the last month and how others have performed.

The one thing we have in our favour is that we have a winning mindset which others currently do not. A few games will be tough but still winnable.

My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.

Re: Long season ahead : Tue Jul 25, 2017 5:20 am
Sorry Halifax 1989, whilst finishing in the top 4 is a good achievement in itself, the mentality of a job done will undo all the hard work HRLFC have done over the regular season. it does matter if Fax get hammered in the next 7 games, do you think RM will say to his guys " Hey boys not a problem getting stuffed, we made the top 4". This was a problem Clive Woodward had in the previous Union World Cup before England won the Webb Ellis Trophy, by saying "I can get you to the final" that they did then thought job over and got stuffed in the final. No I agree with Norman, Winning breeds winning, lets go out and enjoy but still with the aim to win. plus the higher up the 8 the more money, the better quality players that may be attracted to Fax.
One final thought, if D/R is to continue, be in there first and snap up one of the bigger clubs, with possibly better quality players to use.

I think injuries will come into it now. There's a lot of players who have been pushing through the pain barrier to get here; will they be able to keep that up for another 7 games now the target has been reached?
