And Behold, a pale horse. And on his back his name was death.

The weekend starts on a Monday.

HKR hopefully will bring a good support but we have also lost the Leigh game which was one of our bumper fixtures cash wise. Both of them were known about and can be factured into part of the income steams for 2017 and should at least cancell one another out.

Not sure if the club expected the Bradford home game to be as the last couple of seasons but BOD's from many clubs have counted the numbers coming through the turnstiles and any shortfall has to be picked up usually by them. With losing TA it will be harder to keep doing so.

Halifax, like the rest of the Championship Clubs are struggling to budget the season. First of all even if a Bradford side does evolve the crowds will not be as before. Secondly as I see it there is no guarentee that a Bradford side will even compete this year. I think thats why no Championship club except Fev have signed anybody. Everybody is in a boat where the money will be less this year. I think RM is being honest and the club doing the right thing. Why sign players and put the club in to a situation which could result in the club going bust? The whole handling of the situation by all sides has been very poor. The club needs more people to come through the turnstiles but it also needs more sponsors and board members etc. Its easy to criticize our club for making cuts and annoyed we have not or are not in a position to sign any Bradford players. But I would rather be where we are than end up like Bradford, Sheffield, York or Workington. The fact is we are treading water like the rest. Sadly one poor season has hurt us big style. Thats a big worry for us. Its basically if you miss the top 4 then you are smashed financially. The pressure is on at all clubs now to get in to the top 4. Miss that and you will struggle to recover. I think we have to be grateful our Bod didnt go for bust and risk killing our club forever. Thats the situation in Bradford right now.

I feel this is the lowest the game has ever been. We have most clubs, including our own, struggling to survive. The SL clubs are killing the game with their attitude. The RFL are powerless and are scaling things back each year. The amateur game is dieing and each year we see less and less players and teams. The way things are going I am not sure we will have much of a sport left in 10 years time. But with the old fashioned selfish interests things will not change and the short term thinking will keep hurting our clubs and our game. I will be surprised if we do not see more clubs end up like Bradford. Take Davy away from Huddersfield, Moran from Warrington, or Beaumont from Leigh and them clubs would fall like a stone. The game is living on borrowed time at the moment. Everybody is fearing the worst. Thats not the way to rebuild the Sport for me. Some major changes need to happen and the game needs to work out where it wants to go, for the benefit of all and not just a few. We need a strong leader and we need to get as many people as possible all pulling in the same direction from the Sl Clubs down to the Junior Clubs.

Doesn't need war and peace, Richards not being negative, the games skint and relies on handouts from club benefactors to function. Every player is a junior at some point, lets hope some of ours come good.

Don't worry the cavalry are coming in Toulouse and Toronto they will bring huge support to away games and all will be fine, they have a money man with deep pockets who will back them and be around forever. Yer right.

Neither Toronto or Toulouse have been given any special treatment from the RFL. They both have started at the bottom and work the way up. You would have to look much closer to home for a club receiving favours and being touted as "Iconic" and something the game must have. Toronto are funding EVERYTHING themselves and it is not costing the RFL or any clubs to play them in Canada. Toulouse again have got no extra funding and yet people think we shouldnt have them in our dieing sport. Talk about being so blind and stupid!

So what if Toronto or Toulouse do not bring many away fans - neither do Batley, Sheffield, Swinton, Rochdale, Dewsbury etc etc and Fax also do not have a large away following. So what if Toulouse and Toronto have money. Good on them if they do and if they can succeed and progress past clubs that are skint (and have been for years) like Halifax, Featherstone, Batley, Dewsbury, Oldham etc. It is sad that fans do not want the likes of Toronto and Toulouse to be around. Whether we like it or not Fax offer nothing and have no right to be in SL or even the Championship. I hope to see the day when Toulouse and Toronto are playing in SL and they beat Leeds, Wigan and St.Helens. Because I beieve the game needs it. I do not want to see them get special treatment though and I wouldnt want that for Fax neither. I think people need to get out of the stone aga and see the benefits a team Toronto and Toulouse bring. And Toulouse have been going for decades and are still here and I think Toronto can do the same.

Agreed, other than Toulouse have been given two bites at the cherry.

Spot on, and tbh they're been made to work hard for their place. Can't deny that.

Errm, this is where does start to fall apart, at least in our lowly terms. All the above teams will bring more than Toronto/Toulouse, and although Fax may not break any records, they do have travelling fans measured in the hundreds that do outnumber some home supporters. Relatively small numbers, but very important regardless.

Good on them indeed, but to say that Fax offers nothing to the game and has no right to be in the Championship does make me doubt whether your account has been hacked??

I've missed that if true. Why would they split gate money with anyone (other than cup games)?
