The reality is that unless the stay away fans turn up and the people of Halifax back professional rugby in the town then this is how its going to be. Survive or die! In an ideal world we wouldnt need to do this but Salford have been great with us and deserve a lot of credit. We have an opportunity to make our team stronger over the season and its my personal belief that we should do that at this time. All of our Halifax players will have the chance to stake their claim for a shirt and Richard will consider them first and foremost. If people dont like it then thats fine by me but we have to be competitive and most of all, realistic.

Cant argue with the fact we are where we are, and the team is what we can afford, but..... the punt they made on bringing through young players needs to pay off, hindsight is 20/20 but perhaps we should have spent more on the first team squad and made a few middle 8's before we whacked a load of cash into mini buses and started losing kids to SL sides.

Anyway, the point is, people need something exciting to watch, you don't go out for a meal because the restaurant might serve decent food in 5 years time.

No pressure chaps, but the beds made, and fans didn't buy the linen or make it.

Im still hopeful we can be galvanised into something, or at worst the other sides have bad seasons.

Its up to supporters is it? Who badly mismanaged a 700k windfall? Who vexed off the council to the point they raised the rent?

Getting sick and tired of supporters been blamed for not turning up to the clown show that is this club. Marshall got the team working for a year and the club was given a perfect opportunity to build. Somehow in the space of 12 months our board managed to blow it all and have to cut costs to a level clearly worse that we were before 2015. Yet what do they do? Turn around and blame the fans for not turning up. It will be embarrassing to watch what Batley do with their increased funding, and it will be a third of what we got.

I suppose the success of duel registration is down to how it's applied by coaches. If done sensibly, there's no reason why young lads on the fringes of the Fax side should feel left out. Of course, it could always go the other way. While we are only running a first team we have quite a few youngsters knocking on the door of the first team, all of which will want to prove a point. Some of them got SL game time last season and they are all a pretty talented bunch.

There's no reason why it can't work for both clubs, but it will rely on Marshall and Watson to manage it correctly.

I don't think the view Marshall expressed on DR less than a year ago bodes well.....

“Using dual-reg can destabilise your squad. If I were to go and get dual-registered players, what does that say to my lads in the reserve grade? It basically says you aren’t good enough to play first-team and I’m going to find somebody else."

But no doubt he now thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread

Why don't we see what happens. The team has hardly changed over the last few years .We all might be pleasantly surprised. Their were a few games last season where it clicked eg Summer Bash against Fev the wins against the bulls. Lets have some faith and get behind the club.
