I've just read on't wife's Facebook that a remarkable £25,000 has been raised at today's event at The Shay for the Danny Jones fund. A very well done to everyone involved.

What a fantastic afternoon. It was good to see so many greats of the game playing at the shay. What a formidable team that would have been a few years ago. Halfbacks Long, Briers and Harris, Robbie Paul at fullback and Henry at Centre, Sculthorpe at loose forward. Wow. A big up to Keith Senior for making it to play the final quarter after doing a marathon..

Yer big well done to everybody involved in organizing the day and to all the players from the local amateur teams, the current & former Fax players and the Rest of the World team THANKS for an enjoyable afternoon and for helping raise a fantastic amount for the Danny Jones Fund.

How good with the ball did Long, Briers and Robbie Hunter-Paul look?
It is really appreciated that so many former stars turned out today plus former Fax players like Bob Beswick, Rob Worrincy and Liam Finn, cheers lads good to see you again!

Out first visit to the Shay today and the 3 of us had a fabulous time.

Everyone was very welcoming, the event was very fitting for the cause and it was great to mingle with so many familiar faces in the game.

Loved our time today and wish you every success for next season.

Briers was blowing a bit, but Long looked like he could still play a full game. Both were really good at passing.

A great day with Tony Abbott as main organiser, well done Tony. How great was it to see all those players turning out for Danny, also Shad and Fish back in Blue and White and Gareth kicking off.
Lizzie's singing was very emotional and very brave. Again WELL DONE EVERYONE.

It was indeed a great afternoon as others have said it was nice to see so many players we had enjoyed watching over the years. The last 5-10 minutes with everyone taking to the field at once were funny to watch. Respect to all the players in both games and the officials and everyone else who gave their time freely for such a good cause. The Shay is a really lovely ground and I will get down for some of your games next season. Well done to all involved.
