Watching the 6 Nations today, whilst wanting England to win it, I could not believe the standards of play involved. Honestly if King Cross U12's came up with some of those basic lack of skills they would be dropped. How on earth do they get the crowds in to watch that utter dross?

It's marketed as a day out. The rugby is secondary.

A post came up on my Facebook page of the kick and clap boys lording it up over a "big" tackle. Indeed a public schoolboy did a moderately sized tackle on someone who wasn't looking after they'd played the ball.

Oddly enough, they didn't mention the "action" that followed - three pathetically missed tackles then someone scuffing the ball into touch on the full when a couple of passes would have led to a try. Followed by a 15 minute line out and scrum during which the ball didn't move until a penalty was awarded.

Although at times the defending was woeful , you've got to admit it was entertaining stuff . Some cracking tries , good support work and when set free from the rigid structure that most northern hemisphere sides adhere to , goes to show that we have got some decent attckiing players .
