Sadly no I dont, we left Halifax in 1974, and that unfortunately was the end of my Rugby until we switched on the TV, 1987, Quarter final, me, Halifaxstephen, 11, Halifaxpaul, 9 went to the semi and then Wemberleeeee,
Hardly missed a match home and away since then, returned to Halifax in 1998, and hardly missed a game home and away since then.
Apparently that tale is to be made into a film, "the chip man cometh"
Staring, George Clooney as halifaxjohn!
And my old mate Charlie as Mrshalifaxjohn.

Smeaton is a good signing as you say if he can avoid injury, not sure on the aussies but its a big call to suggest that recruitment will be good enough to elevate them over Dewsbury, Fax, and Fev. If the older end can recapture their form though from a couple of years back they can certainly put themselves in with a shout.

Don't think the older end were that bad last season, the smaller pitch at Owlerton was a terror for them to deal with unfortunately. Our away form last year was spot on, hopefully we can replicate that at the Keepmoat this season which will leave us with half a chance.
