We wouldn't have stayed up otherwise, from what I have been told Gateshead have been given a 9 point deduction on last season - which is strange based on Widnes's scenario a couple of years ago.

But this is the RFL, so anything goes

Maybe they have based it on the fact some of the players were not even paid in October

Just plain wrong if you ask me. Leigh were by far the worst team we played last year (apart from Donny but that was understandable).

I agree, They finished in a relegation spot and should have been relegated regardless.

Usual Situation in RL, if you have a nice stadium they won't relegate you.

So your Chairman would have gone along with 2 less games, putting up the entrance prices to compensate for it. Oldham weren't an option because they have just avoided a winding up order. If Gateshead go completely you may yet see just one division again, who knows.
