Sweeping generalisation, but I would suggest most who voted for Brexit were too thick to understand ALL the implications of how it would affect them and theirs and used the easy scapegoat "immigrants" card.
Ignorance is bliss , ignorance is a virtue. The UK is populated by blissful, virtuous people.

It's not a generalisation. It's fact

No, you,re wrong.
This is democracy, you dont have to be well informed you just have to vote.
The lies that were spewed out, by both sides, plus the "honor" among our politicians was enough to put anyone off politics for a lifetime and the British public got what they asked for.

It's like insisting on taking the helm of the Titanic, setting of blisfully unaware of what lies ahead.
Just hope that you dont hear anyone call "Iceberg".

I started off OUT, then was torn between OUT and IN, then got to the point where the lies, deceit and scaremongering had my mind made up to not vote or be a part of the whole charade... Then Gideon came out with his punishment budget threat and that kind of riled my destructive streak. After that I was set on voting OUT and to hell with the consequences.

What were your reasons for voting to leave the EU other than grrr Muslims? Google is your friend. Just copy and paste if you like. You talk about lies? That's funny, the brexit campaign was built on lies that xenophobic btec educated oiks lapped up. The remain side pretty much called the state of the economy as it is now

Re: Brexit Anyone? : Sat Oct 22, 2016 8:36 pm
I voted Brexit for the simple reason that I believe the EU is a dangerous organisation that would enormously impoverish the UK in the years ahead through its protectionist, inefficiency. I also voted because there is no point in being a member without being part of the Eurozone - the reality of staying on that basis was we would never be part of it. If we'd joined then as a geographically peripheral region whose economy is not always in synch with Germany's we'd suffer great hardship by being unable to devalue the currency and adjust interest rates when the need arises. I voted Brexit because I can see no case, and never have seen a case, to be in it. The whole thing has been a lie from day one for the UK.

The global financial markets are run by people with a vested interest in an all powerful EU. Other regional superstates are planned. In reality the money never changes hands, in many cases it doesn't even exist. It is all based on figures on a screen. A global government made up of continental regions rather than independent states is what they want. Brexit has caused a massive setback to their cause. They are punishing us in the hope that we will reconsider but in reality the whole system doesn't physically exist. You probably think I'm a tinfoil hatted loony but it's hard to ignore once you realise what is going on.

Prior to joining the Common Market the UK economy was judged by all as being in a state of "permenant economic decline."
After being in we were the 5th largest economy in the world.
The EU brought us millions of jobs I do hope we don't lose too many firms or jobs.

If you go back further, Britannia ruled the waves, we colonised half the world and truly were one of the great nations and I think this is where some of the right wing Tories have their fondest memories.
Sadly, outside The EU we become a small island, with 65 million inhabitants, the majority of whom work in the retail sector, you could say, a nation of shop keepers.
We cannot compete with the cheap labour of China, India, Indonesia and Africa on low base manufacturing and is just insufficient Hi Tec "output" to sustain the country.
Add to that our lack of self sufficiency in food production and it's clear that we will prosper on our own, why wouldn't we

It's all looking really good at the moment and the further, dip in the value of Sterling (when we formally begin the process of leaving) and things are going to be fantastic, really, they are, no, really, they are.
(all we have to do is be positive and everything will be ok  )
