How many times will he crack a ready made joke from the autocue relating to the whole fracas situation? Yawn.

He probably won't be working for the BBC - don't they commission HIGNFY from another production company ?

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

Am I the only one who can't believe that HIGNFY is still going??

Yes, it was once a very, very good programme - Now, its very, very tedious. Even Paul Merton looks bored to tears by the whole thing.

Sadly, its just become a vehicle for Ian Hislop to spout off his increasingly sanctimonious nonsense.

No you're not the only one. I find it cringeworthy. Ian Hislop adds nothing except pompous guff that only he finds funny. Paul Merton has run his course too as has the show. Should've been ditched when Mock the Week started.

And yet Radio 4's The News Quiz (basically what spawned HIGNFY) still manages to remain topical (what else), witty and entertaining. I reckon a lot is down to the anchor. Sandy Toksvig does an excellent job keeping TNQ moving and is ably supported by Susan Calman and Jeremy Hardy with a limited number of "guests". Whereas HIGNFY seemed to go downhill once the Beeb sacked Angus Deayton and went down the "guest presenter" route

The popularity of Twitter killed HIGNFY. By the time Friday night comes around, the week's news has already been parodied, memed, Vined, dissected, chewed up and spat out. There isn't much left for the panel to say that hasn't already been said in the Twittersphere during the week. Add to that the fact that it can either be made or broken by the ever changing host and you've got a bit of a lame duck.

Yet the same doesn't happen to TNQ

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.

When you rescue a dog, you gain a heart for life.

Handle every situation like a dog. If you can't Eat it or Chew it. Pee on it and Walk Away.
